Itinerary and Things to know

Commencement

7am: Departs Roma. We’ll do other pickups along the route on request.

On the journey to Gurulmundi State Forest, we’ll share stories and information about the flora and fauna in our spectacular region.

Tour outline

9.15am: Arriving at Gurulmundi State Forest, we drive deeper off the tourist track to find a perfect shady spot amongst the wildflowers for refreshments.

10am: Enjoy a wholesome morning tea,

10.30am: Your expert botanist guide will hunt for rare species, tiny ground orchids and carnivorous plants. We’ll visit multiple wildflower sites, each more impressive than the last.

1pm: Tuck into a generous picnic lunch surrounded by wildflowers and woodlands.

1.45pm: We board to air-conditioned 4WD coaster to search to search lesser-known forest areas. Along the way you will learn about fascinating flora from your botanical expert. Keep an eye out for some of Australia’s iconic wildlife.

Take a short walk to the spectacular grand finale wildflower site – camera highly recommended!

Return

2.15pm: Depart Gurulmundi for our return trip to Roma.

4.40pm: Arrive Roma

 

What you need to know
  • Tours are subject to change.
  • Tour is easy-paced and can be tailored to group needs and interests.
  • Short walks may include some uneven ground, long grass and areas with dense shrubs. Good balance is recommended.
  • All tours are weather dependent and a contingency may be required. For tours that are held during storm and fire season, actual location may vary on the day according to prevailing conditions.
  • Mobile phone coverage is limited in areas of the tour.
  • Guides carry first aid and remote communication equipment.
  • Mornings may be chilly in late winter, but the days can warm up to high 20’s and high 30’s during spring.
  • Bush toileting may be required at times

We can also pick you up in Jackson (near Miles), which is on our route.

Yes we do. We’ll send you a form requesting your dietaries and provide you with options in advance.

It is approximately 1.5 hours each way.

Yes, we have a number of quality places in Roma we’re happy to recommend.
